As a law firm, our primary goal is making a difference to our clients
in doing so we want to make a difference to the people who work for us and to the world in which we work.
Our ESG commitment toh elping the environment and communities near and far are both important goals for us.
Our ESG commitment forms part of all our activities and decisions. Internally we try and push everyone to think about whether what they are doing is sustainable. Or how can we be more sustainable? Are we being socially conscious? Are we doing the right thing by our team members and can we help others?
Once ESG is taken seriously on all levels, performance improvement will follow too. Not only that, but by leading by example, as a small law firm, we can encourage others, such as our clients to make a difference in their own world.
Our two current key initiatives are:
In September 2022 to celebrate our first birthday we announced a partnership with B1G1, an organisation which provides the opportunity for businesses to make financial donations to help causes across the world.
For every new client we are able to work with as a result of a referral from a previous client or contact we make a donation to B1G1. B1G1 offers us the opportunity to support a wide variety of projects across the world. We love this flexibility as it enables us to match, where possible, the project and referrer.
The decision to work with B1G1 has enabled the whole Farringford Legal team to have a say in how we make a difference. Each team member was consulted on the types of project which fit best with our own ways of working, values and interests. Farringford Legal will be supporting projects including:
In 2022, our contributions helped to provide 70 days of shelter and food for those who are homeless in the UK, 40 days of training for women leaders in Asia, 64 days of education for children in the world and 88 days of access to life-saving water were given to families in Ethiopia.
‘We have been considering a client referral scheme for a while, as more than 90% of our new business is through referral or word of mouth. We knew that token gifts such as a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates or a gift voucher are outmoded and unlikely to be well received.’
‘Discovering B1G1 was like a light bulb moment for us. This way, we are able to live our values. Our clients know good is being done in their name. Together we will make a difference and significant causes across the world will benefit. I’m really hoping that people will feel that this is another significant reason for recommending us to their networks.’
